Drought Contingency Plan

The city's drought plan was established as part of the statutory requirements set forth in senate bill 1. Drought and other uncontrollable circumstances can severely disrupt the normal availability of water which leads to water shortages. Conservation of our water supply and the efficiency of how we use it, is vital to the long term availability.

Plan Stages

Our drought contingency plan consists of 6 stages:

  1. Mild water shortage condition ( voluntary reduction )
  2. Moderate water shortage condition
  3. Severe water shortage condition
  4. Critical water shortage condition
  5. Emergency water shortage condition
  6. Water allocation
As part of our efforts to conserve and protect our water supply, the city operates under stage one throughout the year.
